Taking a stride, an adventure
Into the fabulous works of architecture
Great works that men have wrought
There comes a beautiful thought.
From the Opera house in Sydney
To the Concert hall of Walt Disney
Los Angeles' home of the philharmonic orchestra,
Drawing ovations from near and far.
The majestic Eiffel tower
And the great wall of China
The mind-blowing Golden gate bridge;
The acme of creativity.
The Taj Mahal beautiful and magnificent,
Opulently built with marbles luminescent;
If men could build such palaces grand,
How then shall be the throne built by God's own hand?
Pausing, at these wonders
My heart ponders;
On the celestial city above
Built by the Lord in love.
The City of music, with walls of Jasper
Where we'll praise the King forever
With gates of pearls and streets of gold;
Mansions with beauty untold.
Truly, men have made giant strides
Building halls and towers of pride,
In their obsession have unraveled
To their world, structures of marvel
But He who is the Creator of all men
Has prepared for His children
Something better and more wondrous
A heavenly home so glorious.
More beautiful than anything we can yet perceive
More wonderful than anything man can conceive
Waiting for those who dare to take the stride
To choose Christ and in Him abide.
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have
entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for
them that love Him.1 Corinthians 2:9 (KJV)
